A private-chef brief should cover people, preferences, timing, and the kitchen—not just a menu. This guide helps you prepare that brief; it is not a promise of chef availability or an included service.
Start with the service pattern
Decide whether you want one special dinner, daily meals, or help on arrival. Include the number of adults and children, dietary restrictions, preferred meal times, and the style of service.
Agree the complete cost
Ask what the quote covers: chef time, ingredients, shopping, transport, service staff, taxes, and cleanup. A daily chef fee and an all-inclusive meal price are not directly comparable.
Check the property’s conditions
Confirm kitchen suitability, permitted suppliers, access times, and any restrictions on outside staff. Do not assume an amenity label grants permission for any provider you choose.

Is a private chef included in every villa rental?
No. Inclusion depends on the specific booking terms; a chef-related amenity does not by itself establish hours, meals, or groceries.
What should a chef brief include?
List guest numbers, allergies or dietary needs, service dates, preferred meals, and kitchen arrangements. Ask the provider to confirm the scope in writing.
Are groceries usually part of the chef fee?
Do not assume they are. Request separate confirmation of ingredients, shopping charges, and any markup.
Can the chef accommodate dietary requirements?
That must be confirmed with the provider. Give complete requirements early and ask how they will be handled in the property kitchen.
Do we need serving staff?
It depends on the size and style of the meal. Confirm who cooks, serves, clears, and cleans before comparing quotes.
Can we host guests who are not staying at the villa?
Only if the property permits it. Outside visitors and catered events may require separate approval.
Can the menu change during the stay?
Ask about notice periods, ingredient availability, and change charges. Flexibility is an agreed service term, not an automatic entitlement.
How do we request chef planning?
Add the desired meals and dates to your stay brief. Provider availability and the final arrangement must be confirmed before booking.
