The essential idea

A successful multigenerational villa stay balances time together with privacy, easy movement, and different sleep schedules. Bedroom positions and everyday access deserve as much attention as the view.

Map the bedrooms before choosing

Ask for a floor plan showing every bedroom, bathroom, staircase, and detached suite. Place families with young children where their preferred supervision arrangement works, and discuss any mobility requirements with the people affected. A bedroom count alone cannot answer these questions.

Make the shared spaces work

Count dining seats, shaded outdoor seats, and comfortable places to gather indoors. A house that sleeps twelve may not offer the same experience for twelve people at breakfast. Request confirmation that the entire group can eat together in the setting you prefer.

Agree on optional activities

One shared meal can provide a daily meeting point without requiring everyone to keep the same schedule. Let early risers, swimmers, grandparents, and teenagers make separate plans. Put transfers and paid activities in a single brief so decisions do not become a daily group negotiation.

Three answers to get in writing

Use these questions when comparing actual properties. Record the answer for each shortlisted villa; an unanswered item remains a question, not an included feature.

  1. Which bedrooms allow older and younger guests to keep different hours?
  2. Can everyone reach shared meals without difficult stairs?
  3. Where can a caregiver sleep near the person they support?

Attach the relevant villa reference to each question in your stay inquiry. Keep the resulting answers with the written proposal so everyone in your group is planning from the same information.

Turn the idea into a useful shortlist

Start with the Costa Rica villa collection and save the homes that fit your group. Use the questions above when comparing their details, rather than assuming the same arrangements apply to every property. If a feature is essential, ask for a specific written answer before making your decision.

The VIC concierge experience can help frame your requests. Send your dates, guest configuration, and priorities through your stay brief; the team can then discuss suitable options. A submitted inquiry does not confirm availability or create a reservation.

A question before you go

How do we choose rooms fairly?

Allocate bedrooms before arrival using access needs, family arrangements, and bathroom preferences. Share the floor plan so guests understand the decision.
